Meagan Good Hits Up The Lakers Game With New Fiance, Talks Proposal

Actress Meagan Good was pretty lowkey this weekend at the Staples Center as she caught a Lakers Game with her new fiance, Devon Franklin. The two were spotted sitting courtside, enjoying nachos and Meagan was definitely showing off her new ring.

She recently caught up with Global Grind and told them  that Devon was heaven sent after she sent a prayer to God and he told her not to settle. She also knew while filming ‘Jumping The Broom’, which Devon produced, that he was going to be her husband even though they didn’t start dating until nine months later:

I was crying about so much at the time that God told me exactly what it was going to be and he told me that the next relationship that I got into was going to be “the” relationship. God told me specifically what the criteria was with the man I was going to marry and he told me to not settle. So I would meet guys who are Christians or loved the Lord, but they weren’t trying with all their heart to walk with him. And I wouldn’t feel in myself that that was the guy, so even if I liked him or was attracted to him I would say, OK I’m not going to settle.”

“Then shortly after that I became celibate. I said, ‘Alright Lord, let’s see what you have for me. Oddly enough, Devon and I had known each other for six years and [Jumping The Broom] wrapped nine months before we even dated. During a couple of those months before, it started getting in my spirit that he was going to be my husband and he didn’t even know.”

“I came and did this thing in his church where I talked about my testimony. I already told my godsister in the car on the way over there. Oh, he’s my husband I know that. And we didn’t start dating till three months after that.”

When asked what her reaction was when he finally proposed, she responded:

I drew a complete blank. Because I had no idea what was going on and it took me a moment to figure out what was even going on in the moment. Once I realized what was going on, my whole brain just shut down. It just went into complete shock. I heard half of what he was saying but there was a whole portion of it that was like a black hole of shock and emotion. Wow, this is really happening right now. It’s kind of a surreal moment. It’s like you’re in an alternate universe.

TheInnerU

TheInnerU opportunities are brought to you in an effort to try and uplift the urban community. The disparities between youth/young adults of color and the majority are alarming.  It is not because we are incapable of carrying out the same tasks.  It is not because we are deemed less intelligent and therefore perpetuate some horrific stereotype.  More often than not, it is simply because the resources are unavailable to communities of color.  Access and quality are suffering and it is up to us to help each other in any way possible.  TheInnerU hopes to alleviate these educational & professional burdens, by providing access to “invisible” opportunities; tapping into TheInnerU to make the most of yourself as a scholar, professional, and leader. If you have any information that could be of use to others, email TheInnerU23@gmail.com.

Beyonce & Her Mom Address Surrogate Rumors

From the moment she stepped into the spotlight, Beyoncé has been the center of her fair share of rumors.

But even PEOPLE’s 2012 Most Beautiful Woman was caught off guard when, while pregnant with her first child, whispers started swirling that she and husband Jay-Z had settled on a surrogate to carry their daughter.

“That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy,” the songstress, 30, tells PEOPLE. “[I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?’”

But perhaps the person most affected by the surrogacy speculation was not the expectant mom herself, but rather her own mother, Tina Knowles.

“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months,” she says. ”As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

Alluding to an Australian interview in which it was later suggested that Beyoncé had been sporting a prosthetic bump, Knowles says, “It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold? Oh my gosh, so stupid.”
